Explore our local resources by topic to learn more about Parkinson’s basics, exercise, symptoms, and much more.
Our mission is to help people affected by Parkinson's Disease by giving them access to daily living tools, tips, and resources needed to live well today, and tomorrow.
We aim to:
Ensure Parkinson’s community leaders have the knowledge and resources they need to make a positive and sustainable change in their community
Encourage and support data-informed initiatives aimed at increasing access to and engagement with resources that improve quality of life for people with Parkinson’s at a grassroots level
Work towards increased awareness of health literacy about Parkinson’s in our area
Educating various organizations (i.e., YMCA’s, Senior Centers, Parkinson’s Support Groups) of the importance of Wellness, particularly when dealing with the progressive debilitating effects of Parkinson’s Disease.
Increase exercise and nutrition programs in the Greater Capital Region by providing funding to make this happen.
Through various grants and donations, the goal of the HPC of the Greater Capital Region is to assist in the funding and help outside organizations support these valuable programs and resources.
